Every time I see the art from the old masters I always sit and ponder what Life was like back than. Such as in the time of Da Vinci. The amount of work and time it took to make those beautiful pigments and lay everything out before you started. You really had have a plan before you did anything. Not to mention confidence in yourself.
Now you can go to a local arts and crafts store and just buy what you need. Or avoid the lines and make an order online. That will always fascinate me forever I think. It's amazing how technology has changed everything in this world. Art especially for myself. The process, the materials, the subject, the media you're using, ect. Than and now. What a difference it is indeed.
Sometimes I think that passion for art is missing. But in reality it is hiding within all of us. It's like a scared little creature that's afraid to come out because it might be "wrong" or "different". Or it might just be the time factor. Taking the time to make a piece that is inspirational takes, well, time. "I won't have enough time". "It will all take to long".
Just slow down. Take a few breathes and come back down. We are a race of speed. It's okay to take it easy and take your time on things. If it is art or something else, slowing down is key. It leads to success. Plus if you rush through one thing it seems you may be rushing through life. Give yourself a chance to talk to your spouse or family member, call a friend just to say hi, hug your pet, say thank you to the girl that makes your coffee in the morning.
Enjoy. Breathe. Art.
What more do you need?
